Chris Baker to oversee product development of platform for converting homes into rental properties and maximizing investment returns
April 7, 2020 — Knox Financial, a fintech company offering homeowners a smart and frictionless way to build wealth through investment properties, today announced that Chris Baker has joined the company as chief product officer.
“People who put their homes in the Knox Frictionless Ownership Platform have seen stability in their investments during one of the most turbulent economic climates in U.S. history,” said David Friedman, CEO of Knox Financial. “As we look toward launching in new U.S. markets in the coming year, Chris will ensure that our platform can scale across the country, enabling us to serve tens of millions of families with the superior investment opportunity our Boston customers have grown to love.”
As Chief Product Officer, Baker will be in charge of overseeing the product roadmap for the Knox Frictionless Ownership Platform, which integrates financing and refinancing, accounting, tax, legal, insurance, tenant sourcing and communication, property maintenance, and everything else required to operate a property investment. The Knox Platform also features a proprietary rental pricing and projection model that understands the value, mortgage data, taxes, insurance costs, and rental market trends related to each home. This enables the company to quickly and accurately calculate the cost to operate a home as an investment property, and the net cash flow and investment rate of return a property will produce over time.
“The complexities of owning an investment property are overwhelming to people who have day jobs but who want the benefits of investing in real estate. I’ve had first-hand experience with this challenge, and Knox has solved it” said Baker. “Property owners can put their investments in the hands of one trusted brand that has aligned its interests with theirs. I look forward to working with the team on expanding our solutions to millions more people so that almost anyone can reap the benefits of owning an investment property, without the headache and complexities that have traditionally come with it.”
Baker brings to Knox more than 15 years of experience as a product manager, project manager, analyst, and real estate developer at a number of companies. Previous roles included Head of Automobile Insurance Vertical at insurtech company EverQuote, VP of Deposit Products and New Product Development at Banco Santander, and Credit Card Strategy and Analytics at Bank of America.
